I began working with clay in a class during my senior year of high school. I didn’t adopt pottery as a hobby until I took a wheel throwing class in my senior year of college.
Wheel throwing became my preferred method of creating ceramic pieces. I have since rented a wheel, experimented with pit firing, and became a fan of the non-profit studio Pottery Northwest after volunteering for their annual fundraiser in 2015.
Currently, I am exploring hand building techniques for small cups and flower pots, as well as self-hardening clay projects. I have also been incorporating cork work into mixed medium pieces.
